Aoi Yuki-narrated PVs for "English for Oshikatsu" Book Now Streamed

"Oshikatsu" means activities to support one's favorite member of a boy band, girl group, or anime/game character. Gakken Plus released "Sekai ga Hirogaru: Oshikatsu Eigo" (The World Expands: English for Oshikatsu) today on March 10, 2022.

The purpose of the 176-page book is to learn to say 330 words such as "Oshi (My fave)", "Numa" (Obsession), "Toutoi" (Precious), and 477 phrases such as "Matte muri Shindoi" (Omg, wait, no, I can't, it's too much), "Toutomi ga Sugoi" (So damn precious…), and "Goiryoku ga Shinda" (My vocab is gone…) in English for those who are living in today's age of connecting with the world through social networking services.

With the help of English-speaking otaku, the book introduces words actually used locally, rather than translating directly from Japanese. When Amazon Japan started taking pre-orders for the book in January of this year, it immediately became a hot topic on SNS and in the media, taking No.1 on the rankings for English dictionary, foreign language study/travel conversation book, and travel English conversation.

The book comes with Japanese audio by popular voice actress Aoi Yuki (Madoka Kaname in Puella Magi Madoka Magica) and English audio by a native English narrator, and they can be played through a dedicated app or website. To celebrate the release, special PVs narrated by Yuki are now streamed on YouTube.
