After a little of a wait between episodes, the latest Pokémon Evolutions web anime short launched last night, giving us some much-needed character devolvement for the rival of the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl games, Barry. "The Rival" takes an inside look at Barry and his struggles to be the very best in spite of the protagonist character and fulfill his dream of defeating his father in a Pokémon battle.
Black Rock Shooter director Shinobu Yoshioka helms the episode as the storyboarder and director, working alongside Kenji Kuroda at LIDENFILMS Osaka Studio, where most of the episode was outsourced to, and Yuuichi Ito.
The next episode of Pokémon Evolutions will be released on December 9 and will focus on a story about Zinnia in the Hoenn region.
