The official website for the forthcoming horse racing school-themed TV anime Fanfare of Adolescence has announced its OP and ED theme song performers.
The OP theme song "Move the soul" is performed by JO1, a global boy group of 11 members selected from the survival audition program "PRODUCE 101 JAPAN" in 2020. This is their second anime theme song work following "Prologue," the 18th ED theme for BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS.
The group's leader Sho Yonashiro says, "When we first heard about the offer, we were surprised, impressed and also felt a sense of responsibility. It's a great honor to be asked to sing the theme song, so all the members are even more enthusiastic. The concept of the anime (which was written in the proposal) was 'youthful ensemble drama x horse racing x survival game,' so we're really looking forward to watching it as we're in a similar situation."
Meanwhile, the ED theme song "OUTSIDERS" is provided by SawanoHiroyuki[nZk], a vocal project by Hiroyuki Sawano (Attack on Titan) who also works on the anime's soundtrack music, featuring Junki Kouno and Sho Yomashiro, two members of JO1, as guest vocalists.
"I'm very happy to be in charge of the soundtrack music for 'Fanfare of Adolescence,' and to provide the ED theme as SawanoHiroyuki [nZk]," Sawano says. "Also, this time, I was able to create the music with a fresh feeling by having Kouno-san and Yonashiro-san of JO1 join me as vocalists. I hope you will enjoy the music as well as the story and the world view of the anime."
The Lay-duce-produced TV anime Fanfare of Adolescence is set to premiere in Japan in the spring of 2022. Makoto Kato (Bloom Into You) is attached to direct, alongside character designer Hiro Kanzaki (Oreimo, Eromanga Sensei novel illustrator).
