Boys' Life TV Anime Sasaki and Miyano Hits Japanese TV on January 9th

Sasaki spends a quiet moment with his new friend and potential crush Miyano at the entrance of his high school while waiting for a rain storm to pass in a scene from the upcoming Sasaki and Miyano TV anime.

The Japanese TV schedule has been revealed for Sasaki and Miyano (known in Japan as Sasaki to Miyano), an upcoming TV anime based on the “boys’ life” romantic comedy manga by Shou Harusono about a bad boy delinquent who develops a crush on his classmate who loves reading BL comic books.

The original Sasaki and Miyano manga is serialized by Media Factory (a division of KADOKAWA) in their pixiv Comic manga magazine, and an English language version is also available from Yen Press, who describe the story of the series as follows:

It all started like a typical old-school boys’ love plotline—bad-boy senior meets adorably awkward underclassman, one of them falls in love, and so on and so forth. But although Miyano is a self-proclaimed boys’ love expert, he hasn’t quite realized…he’s in one himself. Which means it’s up to Sasaki to make sure their story has a happily ever after…!

A new key visual for the upcoming Sasaki and Miyano TV anime, featuring the main characters - Sasaki and Miyano - standing back to back in the hallway of their school while surrounded by the imagery of blooming flowers. Sasaki has his hands in his pockets and a pair of headphones around his neck, while Miyano is carrying a flip phone and two volumes of boys' love manga.

The Sasaki and Miyano TV anime is directed by Shinji Ishihira and features animation production by Studio DEEN. The series will broadcast in Japan according to the following TV schedule:

  • TOKYO MX: every Sunday during the 24:30 time slot beginning on January 09, 2022.
