Burning Kabaddi lit up the manga page and the small screen, teaching fans all about the intense full-contact sport. Now, the story is making its way to the stage as a fiery 2.5D musical!
Stage Burning Kabaddi was announced today, accompanied by a key visual (seen above). Yowamushi Pedal musical director Shatner Nishida will be taking the lead, directing a script penned by Sho Kubota.
Rui Tabuchi, who previously featured in the Bungou Stray Dogs stage musicals, will be leading the charge in the role of Tatsuya Yoigoshi, as seen in the project's first visual. Shouta Takasaki will play the role of Masato Ojo, and Keisuke Kaminaga will appear as Souwa High School's Ren Takaya.
It's also been confirmed that the first and last performances will be filmed and distributed at a later date.
Stage Burning Kabaddi will be performed Feburary 18-27, 2022 at Tokyo's THEATRE1010.
