The official website for the Tokyo Revengers TV anime series announced today that the voice actor for the popular character Draken, Tatsuhisa Suzuki, will not be appearing at the December event for the franchise as previously reported. Though the rest of the cast is still set to appear at the event, the staff are letting fans apply for refunds if they wish.
Suzuki pulling out of this Tokyo Revengers event is just another situation where the voice actor and singer is keeping out the public eye after it was alleged that he cheated on his wife, Japanese pop-star LiSA, with a female fan in her 20s who works at a recording studio. Both Suzuki and LiSA went on hiatus for physical and mental fatigue soon after the allegation was publicized on Bunshun Online. LiSA has since returned to public activities while Suzuki posted apologized for his "irresponsible and inappropriate behavior" in a handwritten note.
The voice actor has offered to step down from his Ultraman anime role, but is staying on as the voice actor for Makoto Tachibana in the Free!-the Final Stroke- anime films. Suzuki's band, OLDCODEX, is also on hiatus due to the situation.
The Tokyo Revengers event is scheduled to be held on December 18 at TACHIKAWA STAGE GARDEN with most of the main cast in attendance. Tickets are available through a lottery code with the second volume of the DVD and Blu-ray. The Tokyo Revengers TV anime series can be watched right here on Crunchyroll.
