Hideaki Anno-edited/supervised Shin Complete Thunderbirds Set to Air in Japan on January 30, 2022

It has been confirmed that "Shin Complete Thunderbirds," a HD remastered edition of the digest compilation of famous scenes from the British sci-fi puppet show Thunderbirds, edited/supervised by Hideaki Anno (the Evangelion series, Shin Kamen Rider), is set to premiere exclusively on the Japanese satellite channel BS10 Star Channel at 21:00 on January 30, 2022 (JST).

The special program will be aired to commemorate the 55th-anniversary of the Thunderbirds franchise and to promote the release of the all-new film Thunderbirds: The Anniversary Episodes in Japan on January 7, 2022. Anno, who professes to be a big fan of Thunderbirds, will introduce many mechanics, detailed gadgets, and unique characters from the franchise that have long been loved around the world. He says, "I will do my best to create a work that can be enjoyed by all Thunderbird fans."

Back in 1985, Anno, who was 25 years old at the time, participated in the production of the original "The Complete Thunderbirds" as an editor. As one of his earliest professional works, it was released on VHS by Bandai Visual on September 5, 1985, but has never been released in DVD/Blu-ray format before. "Shin Complete Thunderbirds," whose title was named by Anno himself, uses the footage which was recently discovered in the warehouses of Tohoku Shinsha and was restored and remastered in HD under the supervision of Anno.
