Get ready to head back into the world of NieR:Automata, as the popular Yoko Taro-directed, PlatinumGames-developed game will be heading to Japanese TV screens soon in anime form. An official Twitter account for the TV anime opened tonight revealed that a NieR:Automata TV anime was in production, as well as a teaser trailer and visual. Both the visual and trailer show off an in-production anime sketch of the ever-popular 2B.

The original NieR:Automata game came out on the PlayStation 4 in Japan on February 23, 2017, with North America following on March 7 and PAL regions on March 10. It was eventually released on PC on March 17, 2017, and then the Xbox One on June 26, 2018, selling more than 5.5 million copies over all the versions. It was directed by the moon on the earth Yoko Taro and follows 2B and 9S as they battle a mechanical invasion alongside the Resistance.

No more details, including start date, staff, or anything else, on the anime have been announced as of now.
