ODDTAXI: In the Woods

The best present we got for Christmas was the announcement of the ODDTAXI movie, Eiga ODDTAXI: In the Woods, which is coming to theaters in Japan on April 1, followed by streaming on Crunchyroll at a later date. While we wait for further details on that, a new key visual and trailer have arrived to preview the big screen outing.

The ODDTAXI movie promises to "depict the aftermath of the shocking final episode." Get a taste of what's in store in the new preview below.

ODDTAXI aired as part of the Spring 2021 season on Japanese TV as an original TV anime, with the series streaming on Crunchyroll at the same time. It's currently one of a handful of shows in the running for Anime of the Year at the Anime Awards 2022, voting for which just wrapped.

Series synopsis:

This town should look familiar, but suddenly, it's not. The taxi driver Odokawa lives a very mundane life. He has no family, doesn't really hang out with others, and he's an oddball who is narrow-minded and doesn't talk much. The only people he can call his friends are his doctor, Gouriki and his classmate from high school, Kakibana. All of his patrons seem to be slightly odd themselves. The college student who wants to be noticed online, Kabasawa. A nurse with secrets, Shirakawa. A comedy duo, the Homosapiens… All these mundane conversations somehow lead to a girl who's gone missing.
