In addition to the previously announced Tsubasa Sakiyama (Ishikirimaru in the Touken Ranbu musical) as the protagonist Jouji Okuno, the official website for the live-action adaptation project based on Gindoro's Patissier-san to Ojou-san (Pâtissier et Mademoiselle / Patissier & Mademoiselle) romantic comedy manga announced two more main cast members today.
Natsumi Okamoto (Yuriko Nishinotouin in the Kakegurui live-action series) is cast as the main heroine Fumiko Haru and Ryota Murai (Sakamichi Onoda in the Yowamushi Pedal stage plays) as Jouji's older brother Ryo Tatewaki, who is also the owner of the cake shop.
The story focuses on the relationship between Fumiko Haru, a cute, easy-going, chubby young lady who comes to buy a cake, and Jouji Okuno, a young patissier at the cake shop who is interested in her but shy about love. Okamoto says, "On the set, there were some difficulties due to the Corona disaster, but there was a very warm atmosphere, and I think such a wonderful atmosphere was scattered in the film as cheerful and sweet moments. I was able to perform the role while leaning on Fumiko's kindness and healthy attitude." And Murai adds, "And it's not just the sweet romance, but also the wonderful sweets on the screen. After watching this drama, you will want to run to the nearest sweets shop!"
The 30-minute TV drama will be aired first for four episodes in January 2022, then a feature film will follow in May of the year. Tomoyuki Furuyama (Bushido Sixteen) is attached to direct.
