Hanae was previously thought to be a close contact with the staff member who had COVID-19 on January 14, and was self-isolating away from his family until the local health authorities decided that Hanae wasn't actually a close contact on January 17. As a precaution, Hanae took a PCR test which came back negative on the same day and resumed his work on January 17.
On January 24, Hanae also took an Antigen test to see if he did have any antibodies, but again it came back negative, so Hanae continued his work. The other day, Hanae started coming down with a sore throat and on January 27, he took a PCR test which returned a positive result. Hanae says he only has mild symptoms and he feels physically fine.
