Yuichiro Umehara Takes Over the Role of Anos in The Misfit of Demon King Academy TV Anime

The Misfit of Demon King Academy

On The Misfit of Demon King Academy stage during the Dengeki Bunko Winter Festival Online 2021 live stream tonight, the cast of the series revealed that Yuichiro Umehara, who is best known for voicing Goblin Slayer in GOBLIN SLAYER, will be taking over the role of Anos Voldigoad after Tatsuhisa Suzuki withdrew from the role after a discussing between the production committee and Suzuki's agency.

Tatsuhisa Suzuki is currently on a break from public activities due to "physical and mental fatigue" after Bunshun Online alleged that the voice actor and singer cheated on his wife, Japanese superstar LiSA, with a female fan in her 20s who worked at a recording studio, posting photos of Suzuki and the fan coming out of a hotel together. Suzuki responded to the claims later in the month saying that he would like to "sincerely apologize to everyone for the trouble caused by my irresponsible and inappropriate behavior." Due to this, Suzuki has stepped down from a number of roles.

No other details on the second season of The Misfit of Demon King Academy were announced during the stream. Crunchyroll currently streams the first season and describes its story as such:

Anos Voldigord was a tyrannical Demon King that eradicated humans, spirits, and even the gods, but became bored of eternal warfare and reincarnated with dreams of a peaceful world. However, what awaited him in reincarnation after 2000 years were descendants who became too weak after being accustomed to peace, and all sorts of magic that deteriorated to the extreme. Anos enters Demon King Academy that gathers and educates those who are viewed as the reincarnation of the Demon King, but the academy could not see through his true powers and ends up branding him as a misfit.
